Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has announced that the company’s infotainment system could soon accommodate consumers’ Steam libraries.
The 50-year-old business mogul on Twitter said that Tesla is working on improving the gaming capabilities of its infotainment system.
As part of this development, the firm may include steam compatibility.
Tesla previously stated that its revised infotainment system in the Model S and Model X is “on a par with today’s newest consoles” and boasts 10 TFLOPs of power.
It contains a quad-core Ryzen Embedded CPU, possibly a Zen+ variant, according to VideoCardz, and it has a Navi 23 GPU with 28 compute units locked up to 2.8 GHz, according to a breakdown.
Tesla vehicle owners will soon have access to Steam’s library on the fly if this prediction comes true. For those who aren’t aware, the Tesla Model S offers an adequate gaming experience.
It is, however, limited to the in-dash display. Rumors say that Valve’s Steam gaming shop may soon be available on Tesla’s electric automobiles.
Musk does not intend to limit the gaming experience to specific titles. He appears to be hell-bent on giving Tesla owners the full steam experience.

Musk said that Tesla is working on introducing Steam games to its forthcoming vehicles in response to a tweet.
Tesla Motors’ CEO was responding to a message from Cyberpunk 2077’s official Twitter account that simply wrote, “Great game.” Musk was afterward asked if CD Projekt’s popular role-playing video game will be available in Tesla vehicles.
Tesla is planning to give Steam’s complete library of games operating on the vehicle’s software, much to the joy of passionate gamers.

The SpaceX CEO was recently criticized for comparing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Adolf Hitler.
And also appeared to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Teslas, claiming that the system would have enough storage to handle larger games.
Tesla’s Tesla Arcade gaming platform has been developing and cooperating with developers in the hopes of someday offering game packages to car customers; being able to access Steam might mean playing (some) games you already own.
Musk acknowledged in his response that the Tesla team is actively working on making it possible to play steam games on a Tesla.
Aside from that, he stated that as part of the company’s long-term strategy, certain titles will be distributed.
Tesla automobiles, for example, can already play Cuphead, Cyberpunk 2077, and The Witcher 3.
To recall, the entrepreneur earlier stated that when self-driving cars arrive, entertainment will be crucial.
As a result, giving people access to Steam games is an excellent method to keep them interested.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD WE EXPECT?
Steam’s game library has over 50,000 games, for those who are unaware. It’s hardly surprising, therefore, that it’s part of Tesla’s long-term strategy.
In addition, Tesla’s upgraded infotainment system has a 17-inch touchscreen. It is equipped with AMD Navi 23 graphics.
Tesla has been tight-lipped regarding critical AMD GPU specifics. However, internet sources say that it will include 28 Compute Units with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz.
Verdict
While it’s unclear when Tesla’s Steam project will be available for future electric vehicles, that Musk is interested in it is worth mentioning.
In 2019, the American electric vehicle manufacturer debuted in-car games with the release of “Cuphead.”
Since then, the number of games available on the Tesla EV screen has increased to about 20. However, with introducing steam titles, Tesla Arcade users will soon have access to tens of thousands of video games on the site.
If reports are accurate, Tesla’s infotainment system will have a computer capability of up to 10 teraflops. This isn’t far behind the Sony PS5’s 10.28 teraflops of processing capability
