Jio’s next affordable phone, the Jio Phone Next, has been delayed. Because of a worldwide chip scarcity.
Originally set to debut on September 10th. However, it has now been postponed for Diwali.
The chairperson and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd. Mukesh Ambani earlier announced that Jio Phone Next will be available from September 10 on Ganesh Chaturthi’s eve.
But, later Reliance confirmed the delay in a press release and added that the Jio Phone Next now be available around the Diwali festival season.
People expect that in the festival season there might be chances of huge sales on the phone. Reliance Jio and Google, both companies have come together to provide an affordable understanding smartphone experience to those users who are less fortunate to use 4G phones and are still stuck on their 2G devices in India.
Reliance Jio haven’t revealed officially about the price and features of the JioPhone Next. But, some of the media reports are saying that the price of the ultra-affordable 4G smartphone may be between ₹3000 to ₹5000 in India. The features of the JioPhone Next is expected to most likely be powered by a low-end chipset from Qualcomm’s QM215 with Adreno 308 GPU. It has a 64-bit CIP and dual ISP support. If we talk about the JioPhone Next’s camera quality then, the device is coming with a 13 megapixel single lens real camera at the back and 8 megapixel camera at the front for selfies. Leaks also highlighted that the device could get a 1440×720 display. And, the default camera app will be Google’s Camera Go. As far connectivity is concerned it is expectedto sport a Snapdragon X5 LTE modem with support for Bluetooth V.4.2, GPS as well as support for LPDDR3 memory and eMMC 4.5 storage. In addition as itconfimed, it will include Read Aloud and Translate Now, features that will work for the on-screen text content. Which means that the JioPhone Next can read aloud text that will appears in messages, webpages and other on-screen text. According to reports Google has committed that the JioPhone Next will receive Android releases as a feature drop.
Critics are also making their statement that Reliance should launch 5G in India, instead of launching JioPhone’s series. But, JioPhone Next will play a big role in the Indian market because of its ultra-affordable price and features.
